Cheap and Chic Flower Girl Dress

My fiance' and I are on a strict budget. So, I'm cutting corners any place I can. Yesterday, I finally got my package from :::drum roll::: TARGET! Yep, Tar-jay, as my friends affectionately call the cheaply chic super-store, was a one-stop shop for my flower girl dresses. I just couldn't pay $100.00 for a fluffy dress that my little niece is only going to wear once.

A quick search on Target.com revealed several inexpensive and cute choices. I needed a dress that was off-white (to match my dress) and that looked appropriate for a wedding. I was more than delighted when this dress arrived. For only $24.99 (it's on sale for half off), this dress is PERFECT. The color is just right, and the fabric is beautiful.

I plan to buy a sash that matches the bridesmaids dresses to add some color to the dress!

Isn't this a great deal?

Color Inspiration Board

Hi all! So, after surfing the world of bridal blogs and websites, I realized I needed to create something that at least begins to bring together the look and feel we want for our wedding. So, I've created an inspiration board!

Let me know what you think!

another HUGE task...

My lease is up. My roommate has decided to move home to save money. Looks like I'll be following suit. Since I'll be moving in August to be with my intended, it makes a lot of sense to move home and not take on a lease for five months. BUT boy is it a hassle! I HATE moving. I really, really do. It's amazing how much STUFF one person can accumulate in a year. Right now, I want to leave everything here and start over!

But, I'm not. I will be getting rid of most of the hand-me-down furniture I've used since college. Anyone need an extra cute sofa!? I really hate to get rid of my cream, tufted, round back sofa, but it could use a good home!

Once I move, I'll be able to focus on wedding stuff again. Right now, my biggest task is to scale down my guest list. I've got it down to 175 (about 25 people over). It's just sooo hard to cut it down!

How are you selecting your guest list?

August 1, 2009 - less than six months away!

Hi, friends! Oh, boy! I have less than six months to go and sooo many details to finalize. I must say, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed thinking about the many things my fiance' and I need to do. But, what always makes me feel better when I have lots to do is to remember what I've already completed:

1. Booked venue/ceremony site/ caterer - we're getting hitched at a country club and we're having the ceremony outside (I think). Let's pray it isn't too hot or raining!

2. I've bought my dress. It's amazing and I can't wait until it arrives!!

3. The bridesmaids have their dresses - I found an amazing deal on the bridesmaids dresses which is the color inspiration for my wedding - a rich plum color.

4. We've booked our photographer - he's amazing. I just know our pics are going to be absolutely fabulous!

5. We have our wedding monogram. I LOVE anything classic. Anything. And monograms are uber classic.

6. We have our save the dates (the snazzy photo for this post) thanks to Nicole over at pinkdesignevents.com.

7. We're half way through our marriage counseling.

8. We have a guest total (150), a list, and a budget.

9. We have addresses for most of the guests.

10. We have a bride-to-be and a groom-to-be!

I guess we're not doing too bad. We only have a little over 8 months to plan! Boy, oh boy!
